At Crown Laser Center, we use a precise, motorized instrument to create a flap of tissue on the center of the cornea. A computer laser, controlled by your Crown Laser Center eye surgeon, is used to deliver cool pulses of ultraviolet light cleanly and precisely. During the LASIK procedure, lasers smoothly sculpt the corneal surface. Each cool pulse of the laser evaporates only a small amount of corneal tissue – about 1/500th of the thickness of human hair. Most LASIK patients notice a dramatic improvement in their vision immediately after the procedure.
